UPDATE: Accident leaves one man dead near Glenrock, Rolling Hills

According to a Jan. 14 preliminary report from the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT), a deer crossing the road caused a head-on collision Jan. 12 at 5:41 p.m. between two vehicles just outside of Glenrock and Rolling Hills on Monkey Road.
Cory Yingling, 57, was killed during the collision between a Chevy Silverado and a Dodge Stratus.
The Silverado was heading southbound on WY-95 at approximately mile marker 4.2, while the Dodge Stratus was heading northbound.
A deer ran west across the roadway directly in the path of the Dodge Stratus. The driver of the Dodge swerved to the left in an attempt to avoid a collision with the deer, but impacted the deer with the front right portion of the vehicle.
The Dodge continued its path from its attempt to avoid the deer into the southbound lanes of travel directly in the path of the Chevrolet pickup, where both vehicles hit head-on.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol responded to the collision. Three people were reported by WYDOT to have been involved in the accident. Information was not released on the other individuals involved.
The WYDOT report states that a seat belt was not being used by Yingling at the time of the collision.
Additionally, a possible contributing factor to the accident may have been cell phone usage. The report does not indicate who may have been using the device.

A collision between a pickup truck and an SUV on the night of Jan. 12 has left one person dead outside of Glenrock and Rolling Hills, according to Wyoming Highway Patrol Senior Public Relations Specialist PIO Aaron Brown.
Brown said WHP is unable to release the name of the deceased or the cause of the accident as of Tuesday morning.
The collision occurred on Highway 95 near mile marker 4, between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
