Nearly two dozen honored with awards for service

The MHCC block party had a great turn out with more than 200 people streaming throughout the whole night. The block party had fun for the whole family with food, refreshing drinks, bounce houses, a test of marksmanship and an inflatable axe throwing game.

The evening of June 15 was highlighted with The Enterprise’s community awards presentations.

The winners for the 2025 community awards from were Kacy Jo Hladky with citizen of the year, Tamara Lehner with outstanding leader of the year, Danielle Tyler with educator of the year, and Sara Borton with entrepreneur of the year.

The event of the year award went the Mingle and Jingle by Main Street Douglas, while the Converse County Library was awarded organization of the year, 307 Prairie Pantry was awarded start up business of the year and Ramos Cafe came away with the most improved business of the year. Caya Construction was awarded small business of the year, and the host of the evening,

Memorial Hospital of Converse County, was awarded large business of the year.

The Enterprise gave Molly Page the Boys & Girls Club volunteer plaque, as Toby Spence was awarded Outdoor Enthusiasts of Converse County honors. Adam Alvarado was awarded youth coach volunteer, Blanca Jaime, Ray and Jillian Haley and Jill Haskins were separately recognized with above and beyond service awards.

Lindsay Holm was awarded the Serve Douglas volunteer, Mary Falkenburg accepted the Eastside Business Alliance volunteer plaque, Bryce Goodwin was awarded The Enterprise volunteer, and Krista McGahan was awarded Main Street Douglas volunteer.

“We’re always inspired by the overwhelming number of heartfelt nominations we received,” The Enterprise Program Manager Jen Goodwin said. “This event is one of my favorites because it gives us a moment to reflect on how fortunate we are to live in a community that shows up for each other. It’s a reminder of why I do what I do — and why Douglas is such a special place to call home.”
