The 2025 Summer Reading Season has officially begun! CCL Glenrock had our official kickoff party in the courtyard on June 5 with the Lions Club BBQ and musician Chad Lore, and a good time was had by all.

GLENROCK ACTIVITIES
We have our Color My Cocktail mixology event with the College Inn on Monday, June 16 at 7 p.m. These free adult classes, for those 21+ only, fill up quickly, so register ASAP at 436-2573 or tlehner@conversecountylibrary.org (Douglas’ class is already full).
We have a special event coming up at CCL Glenrock for kids from 0-18, a foam party in the courtyard on Wednesday, June 18, 4-5 p.m. Join us!
We have a special guest for kids on June 17 from 10-11 a.m. in the courtyard, Ms. Kate will be here with her therapy dog, Star. Other events for kids include a Tween Wind Chime Craft on June 12 from 10-11 a.m., a movie on the 12th from 2-4 p.m, and their Tween STEAM Club on June 19 from 10-11 a.m. Glenrock teens will be making cotton candy milkshakes on June 12 from 5-6 p.m., and there will be Ping Pong June 17 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., to name just a few.
We will host a countywide Culture Club Outing to the Crimson Dawn Midsummer Festival on Casper Mountain on Saturday, June 21, at 7 p.m. Sign up with us at 436-2573 or tlehner@conversecountylibrary.org
The group will provide their own transportation and meet up at the festival. This is the 96th year of this magical, unique, family friendly, community celebration to mark the Summer Solstice. According to All Events, “The Crimson Dawn Association will be celebrating the summer solstice during the annual Midsummer’s Eve Event at Crimson Dawn Park on June 21st. The evening features the folklore tales of magical characters made famous by Neal Forsling, who began the tradition 96 years ago.”
IN DOUGLAS
The CCL Douglas will kick off their season Friday, June 13 to start off the Jackalope Days weekend. It will be from 4-6 p.m., and feature food, games, face-painting and more. Be sure to check it out.
In the next couple of weeks, here are just a few events happening at the CCL Douglas: an adult watercolor class to Paint Your Pet tonight, Wednesday, June 11 at 6 p.m., and a partner event with Wyoming Walks for a stroll along our StoryWalk in Bob Williamson park on Wednesday, June 18 at 5:45 p.m. The walk is for all ages. For the kids in 4th-6th grades in Douglas this summer, our friend Darlene is teaching Beginning Line Dance on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-3 p.m. And upcoming for the teens in Douglas, we have Ping Pong on June 12 from 4-6 p.m., Cooking Club to make Green Eggs and Ham on June 17 from 4-5 p.m., Anime Club on the June 19 from 4-6 p.m., and Billiards Club on June 20 from 4-6 p.m. The Storytimes for kids on Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m. continue, the youth DIY crafts from 4-5 p.m. also on Wednesday, and the Full STEAM Ahead events on Mondays from 4-5 p.m.
