It’s hard to believe we’re more than halfway through January!

VACCINE CLINICS

We are very pleased Converse County Health is holding vaccine clinics in our Converse County Library in Glenrock every Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. this month. Jan. 22 they will also be here from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. You don’t need an appointment, you can just stop in while they are here and either get a vaccine or a booster if you need one.

READING CHALLENGES

We have some fun reading/activity challenges for people of all ages going on at the library this winter. You can access them via www.yourccl.beanstack.org

In the Adult Jingle Books Challenge, you can earn badges that will give you chances to win prizes, in lots of ways.

THANK YOU MONTH

January is National “Say Thank You” Month and we are encouraging everyone to look for as many opportunities to thank people as you can find!

Reach out to those who’ve helped you in your life and thank them again. Consider sending a hand-written thank you note or letter to someone who has made a big difference to you. Perhaps, combine it with a “January is National Creativity Month” activity, and make a hand-made thank you card!

In keeping with National “Thank You” month, we are very grateful to be a part of this community and for the presence of our patrons and friends. Thank you for your patronage this year and every year. We are also very grateful to all who help and support us in providing activities and to our wonderfully supportive Library Board and County Commissioners.

ACTIVITIES & MORE

Your library is holding a Gratitude Group Zoom class Jan. 24 to begin the year with activities and attitudes to bring more feelings of gratitude and love into our lives. A gratitude journal can be a wonderful way to increase feelings of happiness and peace as the year goes on, and the group will talk about that and other activities.

We just had a very successful and fun Artisan Alley Paint and Sip Class at the library last week, where we painted a beautiful Cowboy Moon project. We had over 16 people there!

We will have another Artisan Alley event hopefully in February. Keep an eye out by accessing our Glenrock Library Facebook page, under “Events,” by checking our weekly Glenrock Independent ad, or you may pick up a printed calendar of all of our events each month.

VALENTINES CLASSES

In keeping with the National Creativity month, we are holding a free Valentine Pom-Pom Wreath class for adults Jan. 26 from 6-8 p.m.

Our colleague at CCL Douglas, Jes, teaches a free MakerSpace Craft Night for all ages on the first Tuesday of each month at the Glenrock Library.

The next one is a Valentine craft Feb. 1. Because of materials, there are limited seats available, so be sure to sign up ASAP for these popular classes. You may sign up by calling 436-2573, 358-3644, or via email: jrenz@conversecountylibrary.org

CREATIVEBUG ONLINE

Also, if you are looking for ways to be creative, consider taking a free class through our CCL database, CreativeBug. You can access this wonderful resource with your library card and PIN.

There are first-rate classes taught by nationally recognized professionals on painting, sewing, knitting and more! Ask a librarian for help if you don’t know your PIN, and then have fun exploring the CreativeBug site. As Picasso said, “Every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist when you grow up.”
