Glenrock hosts wrestling camp this weekend, track camp set July 8-9 in Casper
By RJ Morgan
Summer is popular time to travel, vacation, hang out with friends and play games. It’s also a time athletes work on their individual skills before the new school year beings.
There are two chances to work on those improvements in two sports over the next month, beginning this weekend in Glenrock. The home of the Herders welcomes athletes from all areas for the annual Central Wyoming Wrestling Camp, June 10-11, wrestling to be held at the high school.
The camp will be led by Tarkyia Mensah, who is a women’s college wrestling coach in Texas and sister of Olympic Gold Medalist in the Tokyo Olympics. Joining her will be Wyoming Cowboy All-American, Jore Volk along with NCAA qualifier Gabe Willochell to work the boys camp.
The camp is open to those entering grades 4-12. Cost is $65 per grappler.

TRACK CAMP
In conjunction with the Wyoming Coaches Association, coaches and organizers are excited to welcome back World Records Track Camp. This popular two-day camp has world-renowned athletes and coaches who focus on all track & field events.
The national event is returning to Casper-Kelly Walsh High School July 8-9. The reason for moving up a week is due to many of the clinicians travelling to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Student athletes will learn from world record holders, Olympic champions and elite coaches at this unforgettable camp.
Teaching the individual events will be: triple jump - Willie Banks, camp director; hurdles - Andre Phillips; sprints - Gregg Simmons; long jump - Mike Powell (current world record holder); pole vault - Scott Huffman; shot put /discus - Ian Waltz; and high jump - Erin Shean.
Pricing is $195 from June 1-July 5 and $225 after July 5.
This prestigious event is open to boys and girls in grades 5-12. Registration can be completed at https://worldrecordcamps.com
