Our hearts go out to the families, friends and loved ones of Linda Flores and Jim Conner. It is with great sadness in our hearts that we learned of the tragic accident they were involved in Saturday evening. We know we must cover the untimely deaths of two of Glenrock’s treasured neighbors and our hearts, like the community’s heart – is sad.

Upon hearing the news, first it was disbelief. One of the Independent’s reporters had interviewed the couple Friday afternoon for a new business feature. She returned from meeting Jim and Linda, gushing about what a wonderful, happy couple they were who were making all of their dreams come true. Listening to her speak about the pair brought a smile to my face. Looking through the photographs she took of the very-much-in-love couple, I delighted in learning about their R Store, their plans for the future, their contentment and joy living in Glenrock.

This couple set an example of faith, of friendship, of commitment, of living life to the fullest every day.

Take care of each other. Be kind and patient with our community as it grieves.

Those of us at the Independent wish to extend our sincere condolences to Linda’s & Jim’s families.

We are truly sorry for your losses.
