Next Wednesday, Nov. 11 will be Veteran’s Day, a time for the country to come together to pay tribute to military veterans who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

While often confused with Memorial Day, which honors those who died while in service, Veteran’s Day honors all military veterans, including those still with us.

This year, the Veteran’s Day ceremony at American Legion Jesse Martin Post #9 will be smaller, but no less important, due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has hit the country hard.

The ceremony will be at the Glenrock High School from 7:30 to 8 a.m., Nov. 11.

“The significance of this hallowed day must not be ignored or delayed; it is the epitome of the resolve of a nation that has triumphed over adversaries big or microscopic for generations,” Post Commander Scott Howe said.

The ceremony will be short, outdoors and observable by vehicle, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and care for the community, according to Howe.

The American Legion welcomes all who would like to attend the ceremony to honor all veterans.
