Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests & Thunder Basin National Grassland Participate in Every Kid in a Park Program

The program allows fourth-graders and their families to visit day-use areas in our local forests and grassland free of charge.

(Laramie, Wyo.) December 20, 2017 – The Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests and Thunder Basin National Grassland are proud to participate in the Every Kid in a Park Program (EKiP), a program that allows for fourth-graders and their families to visit day-use areas in our local forests and grassland free of charge.

With the holiday break approaching fast, now is a fantastic time for fourth-graders and their families to go online and get their pass, then get outside and experience some of our local treasures! The pass printed at home can be exchanged for a more durable plastic pass at one our District offices, which are listed below.

As part of the Forest Service’s commitment to manage our nation’s unique outdoor spaces and ensure every American has the opportunity to visit and enjoy them, fourth-grade students can obtain passes that grant free entry at more than 2,000 federally-managed sites.

To obtain a pass, current fourth-graders can visit the Every Kid in a Park website. The pass is valid for a full calendar year starting September 1, and grants free entry for fourth graders and three accompanying adults (or an entire car for drive-in parks).

For more information, please visit www.everykidinapark.gov, and follow the program on Twitter @everykidinapark, on Facebook, and on Instagram.
