No child should go hungry in Glenrock during the school closures through April 5 as a direct result of the new coronavirus – and Converse County School District's personnel, and townsfolk, aim to see that every child who wants and needs a lunch gets one.

There’s a brand new program in effect called Grab n Go Lunches, sponsored by the school district.

Town of Glenrock Clerk Tammy Taylor said school officials are hoping any and all children within the community will take advantage of this lunch program, for free.

“There’s no charge – every single kid in the community should be able to have a lunch and this will provide them one,” she said.

The idea is to order the lunches ahead of time, either by calling the school or going online to place the order.

Lunches are available for all students K-12 and can be picked up at Glenrock High School. The lunches will be brought out to parents or students at the north entrance when they arrive.

Lunches can be requested by visiting www.facebook.com/ConverseCounty2/ and clicking the link on the page for “Grab n Go Lunches.” Alternatively, lunches can be ordered by calling the Glenrock High School Office at 307-436-9201.

The Glenrock Area Food Pantry (GAFP) is also busy serving the community through food donations and lunches for the town’s children.

“GAFP also had a wonderful donation made and GAFP was able to make 40 bags of meals and snacks for kids in need. If you are in need please contact the Glenrock High School as they have the bags. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call, message or text. We want to provide the best we can in this time,” said  GAFP Director Melissa Hershley.
