A raging inferno could be seen billowing plumes of smoke on Brew Baker Road at about 5 a.m. Oct. 24.
Jeff Stewart’s home was up in flames. His son, Gary, pulled him out of the fire and emergency personnel were contacted. Jeff was transported to Memorial Hospital of Converse County and kept overnight.
Jeff’s and Gary’s pets died in the fire along with most of their belongings
“My uncle (Gary) lives there too,” Chelsey Bilger, Jeff’s granddaughter said. “He actually pulled my grandfather out of the house, because he passed out.”
Chelsey learned about the fire from a post on the Glenrock Rant and Rave Facebook page.
Chelsey started a GoFundMe page to get word out to the community in hopes of getting food and clothing donated to Jeff and Gary.
They are asking for size 12 and a half shoes, extra-large shirts, pants (36 waist 34 length and 32 waist 34 length), non perishables and daily necessities.
