Fire ban across Converse County
The Converse County Board of Commissioners have implemented a partial fire ban from Aug. 1 to Oct. 15.
The decision was made following meetings taking place July 18. All outdoor and open fires are prohibited with the exception of enclosed gas and charcoal fires, propane or open fire branding activities in cleared 10 foot areas, trash and refuse between the hours of 6-10 p.m. and control burns for range improvement (only with written permission of the County Fire Warden).
The use of acetylene cutting torches or electric arc welders are permitted provided they are in a clear 10 foot area and fire suppression or a fire guard is present.
