Deer Creek Days 2020, which had been scheduled for June 19-21, has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With the event relying on a (large) attendance, we just don’t know if we’ll be able to host the local festival due to the social restrictions put in place by Governor Mark Gordon,” Glenrock Chamber of Commerce Director Kristy Grant said at a Converse County Tourism board meeting April 30.

The festival brings in vendors and visitors from all over the area for a weekend full of family friendly activities, but with gatherings limited to only 10 people and bars and restaurants only now starting to reopen with restrictions, it’s just not feasible to have the annual celebration, according to Grant.

“We thought about postponing it until August or September, but we had challenges with attendance which is why we moved it to June last year,” Grant said.

Even if all of the restrictions are lifted by the governor state health department, there still wouldn’t be enough time to organize events and bring in vendors to have a successful Deer Creek Days, according to Grant.
