Bradford Doyle Stewart, 1948-2018
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)
On July 17, 2018, Bradford Doyle Stewart departed this world. Brad was born in Lakewood, Colo., to Ralph and Dodie Stewart on Jan. 11, 1948. The fourth of five siblings, Brad joined a musical, imaginative family.
The kids were known to sing for their supper and learned electrical and carpentry from their Dad. Brad joined the Navy, from which he was honorably discharged, and then worked his first trade as a mortician. While working, Brad married Vicky Wilson (Smith) and had his first daughter, Heather.
Brad met the love of his life, Paula Bishop (Stewart), whom he married Nov. 19, 1977. Best of friends always, they were a token of the perfect marriage. They made their home in Glenrock, Wyo., where Brad worked several years at Bear Creek Uranium as a heavy equipment operator, and then as a contractor for his remaining years.
They completed their family by adding their second daughter, Cassy, and son, Beau. Though much of their marriage was spent in Glenrock where they raised their children, they also lived in Oklahoma, Grand Junction, Colo., and lastly in Thornton, Colo.
Brad lived an amazing life with such an imaginative mind. He enjoyed things such as Disneyland, his favorite restaurant, Casa Bonita, politics and, of course, his family. His grandchildren were his world and he enjoyed spending time with them. Brad carried with him a charisma unmatched. There was just a special sparkle in his eye. He made the room warm. He was a lover of all.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Dodie; his mother- and father in-law Clancy and Betty Bishop; his two oldest nieces, Shonda and Wendy; and his eldest nephew Louie.
He is survived by his wife Paula of Thornton; his children Heather (Kenny) of Glenrock, Cassy (Josh) of Thornton and Beau (Carlie) of Lakewood; his siblings Connie (Jake) Smithson of Port Arthur, Texas, Terri (Frank) Kerr of Grand Junction, Johnny (Barbara) Stewart of Claremore, Okla., and Sparky (Kim) Stewart of Baton Rouge, La., and Lois (Floyd) Svrko of Glenrock; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He also cherished his grandbabies Coral, Jordan (Angel), Reese, Max, Haddie and a step-grandaughter, Alexis. He also loved his grand-pets Mavis (dog) and Jackson (cat). He was loved by everyone he met and will be missed dearly.
